Offerings
What I offer: I am a violinist who is passionate about helping people enjoy practicing and performing. I offer coaching for violinists and musicians who want:
- help fitting practice into a busy schedule and you want it to be more effective, fun, and rewarding.
- to fall back in love with playing your instrument after burnout, or sustaining an injury that prevented you from playing.
- guidance crafting your marketing materials, your "pitch" to promote yourself and your work, and biography to showcase what makes you unique as a musician.
The problem: All musicians want to get better at their instrument. Few musicians love practicing and many find it daunting to get a practice routine going they can stick with.
Why this is a tricky problem: Patchy practice schedules can happen for lots of reasons, the important thing is to be kind to yourself and learn how to work with—instead of against—these challenges. You may be new to playing and regular practice isn’t a habit yet. Or you may be returning to playing after an injury and you need to take it slow but not so slow that you don't make progress. Or, perhaps you are trying to find time to practice but your schedule is absolutely jammed. In addition to hectic schedules, injury, and life getting in the way...practicing can feel like a crap shoot. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn’t, and it’s not always clear when it will “work,” or why it works when it finally does.
The solution: My coaching will help musicians : 1) take stock of their practice habits and mindsets, 2) recognize practice pitfalls and the energy they carry into the practice room, and 3) create sustainable practice habits that translate into healthier mindsets and better playing.
